My Scholarly Poetry Collection - Sample 2

The Universe!
Written on 3 May 2005

Space starts where solid ground ends
Aliens have different kinds of friends

Each galaxy has a name
From the big bang galaxies came

In the universe there may be aliens
I think some of them are Pormaliens

Space has light years in stead of miles
Stars are together in piles

Galaxy we are in is the Milky way
We can't see star clusters during the day

Comet belt is made of ice
Every day the sun will rise

Pencils!
Composed - May 2005

Pencils are made of lead
Books are red

Pencils are used for writing
Matches are used for lighting

Pencils have to be sharpened
Carpenter’s wood has to be carved

Children use pencils
People eat Popsicles

Pencils are made of wood
People eat food

Pencils are used to write stories
Trucks are called Lorries

Pencils are very thin
Their leads are sharp like a pin

Some pencils are made of plastic
The camel is fantastic

Pencils wood are made from trees
A part of our body is the knees

For some pencils you have to put the lead in
No body should ever do a sin

Some pencils are used for colouring
In spring the trees are flowering

Pencils are in plenty
Forty plus fifty is ninety

Some pencils are very long
You erase it if it’s wrong

Some pencils have light bulb toppers
To the trash goes the candy wrapper!

The Hungry man!
May 2005

The Hungry man
Had a pan
To the shop he ran

He saw nothing except butter
Then he saw a cutter
He bought both and gave
40 rupees to the cashier

The butter made him happy
Then he saw a monkey
He got 100 rupees
He was very lucky!
