India Abroad - Special Achievement Award for 2010
One Friday evening in June 2011, I received the 2010 India Abroad Special Achievement award in a grand and gala ceremony at the grand ball room of the historical Pierre Hotel in Manhattan. I met a lot of personalities including the 2009 Chemistry Nobel price winner Mr. Venkataraman Ramakrishnan, Film personalities Ishmail Merchant, Mrs. Madhur Jaffrey, Pulitzer winner author Dr Siddhartha Mukherjee, Strobe Talbott - deputy secretary of state in President Clinton administration, Grammy winner VIjay Iyer, Astrophysicist Dr Priyamvada Natarajan and Mathematician Dr Manjul Bhargava. This was a great learning experience for me where I realized how small I am and how far I have to go...You can view the Picture Slide show here.
Shri Praful Patel, honorable minster in India gave me the award.
Here is my acceptance speech.
